Overview

This is not a performance. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is shared between the Maasai and the wildlife — people and animals living the same way they have for a thousand years. Walk with a Maasai warrior guide across the open savanna, visit a traditional boma, and understand what it means to live inside one of the world's greatest wildernesses.

Day by Day

The Itinerary

Drive from Arusha into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Late afternoon visit to a traditional Maasai boma — the circular thorn-fence enclosure that shelters both the family and their cattle. Meet the elders, learn about the clan structure, and watch the junior warriors practise their jumping dance (adumu). Overnight at the rim lodge.

Twelve days, three parks, one lifetime.

"Twelve days, three parks, one lifetime. Aya read us better than we read ourselves — every camp, every meal, every silence, placed exactly where it should have been."
