Overview

Lemosho is the route we recommend to first-time climbers who take the summit seriously. Eight days of gradual ascent through five ecological zones — rainforest, heather, moorland, alpine desert, and arctic summit — each one a world of its own.

Day by Day

The Itinerary

Transfer from Moshi to the Lemosho Gate through Maasai farmland. Register at the gate and begin the ascent through dense montane rainforest. Giant hagenia and podocarpus trees tower above. Colobus monkeys crash through the canopy. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp) for lunch and an afternoon rest.

Lioness surveying the Serengeti plains

Twelve days, three parks, one lifetime.

"Twelve days, three parks, one lifetime. Aya read us better than we read ourselves — every camp, every meal, every silence, placed exactly where it should have been."
